About the Upstate Photographers’ Photo Station

First introduced in the spring of 2010, the Upstate Photographer’s Photo Station is an exciting update to the old fashioned photo booth.

When we came up with the new Photo Station concept, we had two goals in mind: first, to give event and party planners, hosts, and corporate event organizers something extremely memorable that their guests will enjoy and have fun with, and second, to provide a memorable photographic experience at parties that is truly shareable.

With a standard photobooth, typically the only photos your guests receive are the ones of themselves. With the Upstate Photographers Photo Station, all the images are posted on our website the day after the event, so not only do you and guests get to see your images, you can see those of your own friends and family too! And not only can you “see” them — you can download them to your own computer, put them on facebook, email them to friends, print them out — do whatever you want with them.

So What Exactly Is the Photo Station?

The Photo Station has a timeless white background, with fashion-style studio lighting to make your guests look their very best. One of our experienced photographers not only makes sure that the images made are technically beautiful, but also keeps things fun, helping guests come up with creative ideas and poses for their photos. The huge LCD monitor lets other guests see the fun in real time, and it’s almost like a magnet — people can’t resist looking at the compelling images of other guests popping up on the screen, and then coming over to make their own. You can see examples of the images from our Photo Station at a wedding by clicking here.

The thing we think is important about the Photo Station is that it is whatever each guest wants it to be — some make goofy, fun images. Others make beautiful and romantic portraits. Whatever they choose, the addition of a professional photographer into the mix ensures that you will end up with a set of meaningful pictures that may well prove to be your most treasured memories of your event.

What Kind of Events is the Photo Station for?

The Upstate Photographers Photo Station is most popular at wedding receptions, but it is also perfect for holiday parties, anniversary celebrations, birthday parties, corporate or business events, church events, sweet 16 parties, grand openings, you name it! All we require is a 10×10′ space for the background and our lights, and a source of AC power. There is no limit to the number of pictures taken — as long as there are people standing in front of the camera, we’ll take their pictures!

The Details

Most people book the photo station for three hours. This allows plenty of time for all your guests to find their way over to it and have some fun.

Our basic package at $499 includes the fashion-style seamless background, lights, LCD monitor(s), camera, and a professional photographer for up to three consecutive hours. As you would expect from Upstate Photographers, the Photo Station is supplied with backups of any equipment that might fail, ensuring a trouble-free event.

After the event, all the images receive a quick edit, and are uploaded to a gallery on our website within 24 hours of the end of the event.  We hand out cards with the the website address so that guests can easily find and enjoy all the images the next day. The images can be printed out directly from our website at very reasonable prices, or guests can download the images for posting on Facebook, emailing to relatives, etc.

Our deluxe package at $1199 adds rapid on-site 4×6″ printing so that your guests can take their pictures with them.
